Food Was A Popular Part of Banner Life
Dining was a highlight of the Banner vacation experience. Meals took place in the two simply decorated dining rooms, which could seat more than 300 guests at a time. Behind the scenes, a crew heroically manned the often-frantic kitchen, cooking, servicing the impatient waiters, washing dirty cookware, silverware and dishes.
Out front, the energy was more sociable as the usually eager-to-please wait staff took orders and brought food for as many as 24 guests at a time. Guests dined at tables for eight and could order virtually unlimited servings from a menu that changed daily and usually featured five or more entrees. This three-times-a-day food festival was enlivened every Wednesday with a lakeside barbeque dinner.
